What is engineered wood flooring?

Consisting of a real hardwood layer (the same as solid wood flooring) over the top of plywood, engineered flooring looks just like a true hardwood floor.

The multiple layers in an engineered board give it great strength and resilience. A more environmentally friendly solution, the layered structure gives it an under-core beneath the surface, providing greater strength, stability and reliability.

The benefits include:
Affordability – engineered wood can be significantly more cost-effective than solid wood flooring.
Easy installation – wide and accurately machined engineered boards that fit together effortlessly makes for easier installation, helping to save on fitting costs.
Stability – thanks to its multi-layered structure, engineered flooring is far less prone to expansion and contraction and is suitable to be laid of underfloor heating.
Low maintenance – with a suitable finish, an engineered wood floor is easy to keep clean and requires little maintenance.

Engineered flooring applications

Solid wood floors can struggle in areas with high temperatures and humidity, putting them at risk of movement; engineered boards are far more resistant to these conditions, making them a great choice for use in bathrooms, kitchens and over underfloor heating.

The stylish design is suitable for any room in your property, with colour and style options to suit any space.

Our engineered wood flooring is available in two timbers: oak and walnut.

With our engineered oak flooring options, you can get all the beauty and benefits of a solid wood floor, with added reliability and stability. What's more, less valuable European oak is used to make up the board making it a more environmentally friendly flooring option
