The Bell Inn at Chittlehampton in North Devon is a traditional village pub that has an excellent reputation for food. So when they built a large brick and wooden conservatory as a light and spacious restaurant during the Coronavirus lockdown in Spring 2020, landlord Mark Jones was after a hardwearing and stylish floor.
“I had an idea that I wanted the old and the new look together but we were trying to get a certain flooring that would enhance the building. I wanted it to be hard wearing, I wanted it to be easy to clean and so as soon as I saw it (the Exmoor Smoked LVT) I just knew that was the one that I wanted and it works really well. Everyone’s commented on it, everyone likes the building, they love the floor, we love the floor.”
The pub is on the edge of Exmoor so rather fittingly Mark chose the Exmoor Smoked Wood Plastic Composite floor for the restaurant. This type of flooring is perfect for a busy pub as the top layer is made from an extremely durable printed vinyl to replicate the look of real wood. But below is a combination of wood pulp and adhesives which produces a very stable and reliable floorboard that is 6.5mm thick. There’s also a built in acoustic underlay which helps to dampen sounds. The vinyl also offers excellent protection against bumps and scrapes when tables and chairs are being constantly moved across the surface.
“There’s people in and out of the room all the time and it is also the walkway through to the garden and I just thought that we had to have something that wore well and that we could clean it and I’m very happy with it, it was a great price, it was easy to lay and I’d recommend JFJ Wood Flooring a hundred per cent.”
The Bell Inn is open 7 days a week for food and is located just a few miles outside of Barnstaple. If you’d like to see more about our Exmoor Smoked LVT floor then you can do so here. Or please give us a call on 01598 740197.
